Cherry Evans is class. He made his test debut in 2011, at a time when both Cronk and Thurston were still playing. He seems to have improved year on year- he bossed the Origin series and his kicking game is immaculate.



The gulf between NRL & SL, is huge in my opinion. 9 times out of 10 Penrith would beat Saints, comfortably , but they did looked under cooked and fair play to Saints for taking advantage of it. I don't think Saints would be a top eight side if they played every week in the NRL, either. The gap is growing in standards every season and that is why the test arena is less important to Aussies now than Origin. There was more build up and hype over SOO than the World Cup ,when you watch the Aussie shows, their ranking of a player is the origin benchmark and DCE was the Maroons skipper.. Doesn't come much better than that.

Doyle at Keighley has handed in a transfer request as a SL side chases him. Good hooker, lots of potential.



Could be us in for him, as understudy to an NRL 9, or, he could be going to Salford to replace Ackers.....
