Exactly how I feel tbh. If McDonnell signs, great we have a specialist fullback. If not Horne will do for one season before we bring in another fullback to replace Horne.

Paea though would be a brilliant signing, rated him well before we were linked with him and would make the derby even more entertaining!

Id rather use Horne at FB than sign McDonnell whose looked ok but only ok. If we want to challange we need to be aiming higher than that

And who's going to be playing fullback when Horne misses half the season due to injuries?

Having a proven specialist full back is better then not having one. He's been in decent form lately so would be fairly happy with it. Like I've said previous, Horney would still play a lot of games.

Me too. He's average. I'd rather get in a decent half back and put up with horne at FB for a season

Think there will be few decent fullbacks in SL next year, the fact that McDonnell is looking like one of the better options is indicative of that.

McDonnell looks a decent prospect to me, although he looks a bit isolated at Rovers sometimes. Not sure Horney is up to Super League standard any more.

Would it be worthwhile playing McDonnell on the wing (as many on here seem to think Sharp won't be retained) and then have him switch to Fullback if Horne is unavailable to play?
Or would that be unrealistic in terms of salaries?
