If he's a 150 game plus NRL middle this would be the shortlist:



Nathan Brown, Jordan McLean, James Tamou, Aaron Woods



I'd only really look at Brown or McLean from that list

McLean only one you’d describe as a 150 plus middle. Brown not reached that milestone yet. Tamou and Woods have played well 250 each so probably wouldn’t be described as over 150 gamers.

But tamou was class at NQ and woods decent aswell sure they'd still do decent ?

Tamou too old now, would be 35 by the time he comes over. Woods will 33 in March but not been the same player since he left Wests in 2017. Would stay away from both personally. McLean on the other hand, 32 in October, still playing regular and well, only called up to the NSW squad last season.

Cowboys fans saying that Mclean perhaps only offered minimum wage to re-sign with them - that opens him up to bigger offers from us

Would've played origin last season if he didn't do his hammy in the Blues camp.



He'd add some leadership

As much as he would be an excellent signing, his stats are brilliant, I would be disappointed as it probably means that Blore won't be coming unless we have a UK 9 or 7 coming in

The NRL minimum is still pretty high when comparing to SL and can only see that gap widening. With such a massive disparity in money between NRL & SL and the cap value in SL, teams here are having to use up more and more cap to bring in quality quota players, which is no doubt why the marquee rule was brought in, then extended to 2 players and will see this extended to 3 players in 2024.



Hopefully IMG will come good and we will see a greater interest in the sport generated to bring in much needed income to the sport.



Mclean certainly seems a decent player, though he'll be 33 next season which could be an issue.

McLean is good, every time I have seen him he looks very composed and doesn't cough up many errors, with a decent offload to his game.

Woods is done, even at SL level he is nothing different to players we have released, James Tamau is also a player I'd leave alone, he is definitely well past his sell by and wouldn't represent good value , for me anyway.



Just intrigued about the half back situation, I cannot for the life of me see Lewis leaving Rovers, he is their talisman and looks totally invested in them, obviously not forgetting he was a Hull fan, which I don't think would have much bearing on his future. Be good if he did a Cooke , resigned and then cam over, but he won't do that. Rovers are a more attractive proposition for would be signings, than us, currently.

Rumours?

For all the qualities Lewis possesses I think we need a half back who can organise and dictate a game like Clifford. I'd be amazed to see Lewis leave Rovers especially to us.



Litten on the other hand is unlikely but more realistic and would be a great signing plus it creates a quota spot.



Houghton interchanging with Litten would be ideal with Balmforth waiting in the wings.

Seriously, why swap, from a team higher than us in the league and about to contest the second biggest game in UK rugby league? I cannot see any regular fist team player doing that, if they are contracted to Rovers, personally. Hudgell would charge us astronomical fees. Forgetting all the boyhood adoration of the club, the reality is that they are , currently better than us and with seemingly bottomless financial reserves.

They are 2 points ahead of us - we beat them in the last Derby, why this sudden narrative that they are far better than us?
