I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!

You are right Dave.

Think Hodgson wanted him and Gale to have a good run together to see how they went. If he wasn't a marquee player and wasn't Hodgson's signing he may well have gone before. Maybe Pearson and Clark had to step in?

You've really got to question his judgement in signing him in the first place. Even more worrying that he was on the Wests coaching staff.

I said earlier i think the decision was taken out of Hodgsons hands

I would imagine Reynolds reply to the person that posted on his social media won’t have gone down well with AP and quite possibly the final straw.

Shame it didn’t work out but we move on

All homegrown no superstars but all contributed to our success. Plus Taylor who was desperate to play for the club.

2008 was a poor season for Hull FC, in SL especially. You had a large and arguably stronger contingent of homegrown players that year.

That is a really poor analysis by me because I wanted to make a counterpoint and I went off to find and select evidence to support it. And to mirror your approach. You might, in response choose to mention injuries or the perceived shortcomings of the coach. Again, that is selection bias.

A team might get a golden generation once every few decades and needs a few coming through to be competitive at least. But what underpins good recruitment and a strong academy is money and ongoing success. Bradford stopped being good when the money ran out. Hull’s peak recent years followed heavy investment by Pearson to bridge to the emergence of an academy generation which didn’t, as a group, meet expectations.

Saints bring youngsters into a winning team. If Hull are focusing on potential and being patient for a couple of years, I think it is going to be harder than some imagine. Even if fans are patient, which they might be if it is born of economic necessity, it’ll still be a drag on external recruitment because good players want to spend their best years competing.

It’s a question of degree, and I doubt Hull are going to take a radical approach. However, pain is no guarantee of gain.

Just seen that

Maybe it’s to bring the ball on pre-match like our legends do?

Another example of a super league player well passed his best going to the nrl for a final pay day.

The mind boggles at that especially has he was so poor over here for us. Maybe the sentimentality issues we suffered with as a club have rubbed off on Canterbury or the person that offered him a deal was a little bit :DRUNK: .

I hate having to respond to rumours. But for the record. Josh Reynolds sent me a message from UK two months ago saying he was returning to Australia and that he’d like to assist in junior league &/or community programs. I told him to come see me when he gets home. Thanks.

That's that then.
