Me too I'd like to see Staveley given a chance. Think he looks more ready for it than Gardiner.
Only thing is if TS worried about Hoy he may put McIntosh on the bench as cover
That was my thoughts re Hoy based on how TS has dealt with players coming back from injury. I imagine that McIntosh may be on the bench or even start with him getting a run out at FB in the reserves as a precautionary measure re Hoy.
Good to see Staveley named in the 21, would be a good opportunity to give him some minutes at first team level if he's staying. Hopefully there are no doubts over Hoy which would allow TS to do that rather than have McItosh on the bench as a back up.

Thats a pretty strong squad and they still have some big bodies in their pack. I think we have to target Fonua, he is not very mobile and, although he's looked pretty good with the ball at times, Jordan Turner's defence has been exposed due to his lack of pace and ability to turn quickly ,when I've seen him, so I'd hope we can take advantage of that, but both are likely to play a blinder as it is against us. It seems so long ago that Turner scored a hatrick against Rovers at the then KC Stadium, he's certainly had a durable career, it was around the time of Stilts and Brett Seymour, if I remember correctly. I'd love Hull to make a play for Cain Robb, when he's OOC, some time next year I think I read, I think he'll be a very good hooker and if he plays Sunday, we'll have our hands full, particularly with his dummy half runs as he has a really good turn of pace. I think we need a win to reinforce belief and convince everyone, including the players to buy into Smith's coaching, which will see us improve as the season goes on, hopefully. I'd love to be confident about this game, but it is Hull we are talking about. Nevertheless, I called the Wigan game margin correctly, so I am going to say Hull by 10, in a low scoring at times dour game, unlike our season opener.

Yes he's had a long old career. He signed for Hull as a 21 year old for the 2010 season. He made his debut in the halves along side Richard Horne. Turner was a decent player for us, 34 tries in 72 games.
Come on Hull Let’s smash em I love the Cup ! let’s be honest until the GF became all trendy around 2010+ the CC final has been the best match since 1890 so it still beats the GF in a top trump of RL cards game
Went to my first CC final back in 1949 on a school trip and loved the day so much so that I went to every one until I left the UK in 1966. Then came back for those where Hull were one of the combatants and one when Roy Francis won it as coach for Leeds in 1968( renowned ''Watersplash Final"). Third time lucky for Roy as he had lost 2 consecutive ones at Hull in '59 and '60. Went to my last when Hull finally won at Wembley against Warrington
A memory of my first one was arriving at Kings Cross and experiencing a Cola drink(Pepsi) for the first time- not available in Hull for some reason.
