A shocking decision by Lane to kick near the line, turning over possession. You could see what Sutcliffe thought.
Then off that kick Warrington score.

Don’t like to criticise players after that effort but Lane has such a poor rugby brain and it costs us dearly.

He should never have let there young player beat him so easily and then should have made every effort to get to marker instead of kneeling there.

He does too many stupid things.

Great effort from the side tonight. I'm not gonna bag Lane too much, he was really poor at times, but he didn't stop trying he just isn't good enough and shouldn't be near the 17 once we get, if we ever get, close to our strongest line up

Some positives to come out…Staveley didn’t look out of place, both starting props put in shifts,Brown and Balmforth both good at d/half..Smith,Martin,Sutty,Walker all good….non positive…Okunboar and lane both total gash and the red-card total joke…fair play to Burgess and Wilkin but Wells trying to justify it…Bell-end

Positives for me where Balmforth and Staveley, who look ready for more 1st team games.

Also Brown at hooker and Hoy in the halves looked a more natural fit before the joke decision happened.

In the land of wishful thinking once more. Patiently waiting for our time to finally arrive.

I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.

Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.

I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.

Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

Pity about the two late tries, but they were out on their feet by that point, think that's why there was a couple of speculative plays in the last five minutes looking to score.

Can't fault the effort, we were all fearing the worst before KO and given everything that's gone on this week that's about as much as we could have hoped for.

On to next week, let's hope we don't slip on a banana skin.

Prepared to give him the benefit of doubt but so far he doesn’t look to be a good signing at all. In a game like tonight you expect to see one of the few remaining quota players on the pitch at least standout in a young experienced side, yet we saw nothing whatsoever.

Crazy that the Hoy tackle was a penalty try (not got a problem with that decision) but the Sutcliffe one first half wasn't even mentioned or looked at, as clear a high tackle as you are going to see.

Some good effort tonight mixed in with some disappointing performances.

Staveley and Ashworth caught the eye, Walker and Martin bags of enthusiam.

Any small chance of staying in the game killed of by the outrageous red card for Brown.

Jack Brown was the MOM for me.Ashworth if he keeps up the workrate will be a decent signing
The younger players did well although Balmforth didnt seem to get much game time in the second half yet seemd up for it
Didnt understand bringing Barron off for Litten
Cant see Brown coping any ban with such a huge backlash from R/L fans so with Soa back we can ship out Lane or Okunbor and keep the same 17

I have lost interest

Re: Warrington away Friday 23rd : Fri Feb 23, 2024 10:09 pm
Whilst we were still in the game we gifted the softest try in RL.
The dart over from acting half, and we let them in twice.
This is a sign of a side not switched on and we were in the game at both times.

Bravery and effort are to be expected as it is a basic 101 of RL.
It's like saying they played the ball well all game if we go on and on about how 'brave' they were.
Bravery and effort is a professional requirement surely?

30 mins to go and it's 10-14 - that's when we would like to see leaders step up.
I like Smith and Staveley looked solid.

Lane - I hold my breath whenever he's in play.

OK London next. Lose and for me Smith has to fall on his sword and say it's been one job too far.
Win and that's a great tonic for a team who can't likely remember the last win.
Let's hope for a bloody win as this can help create confidence.
