Their is a common denominator in all, they were highly respected professional players.
Long has a lot to prove, he is very very lucky to get a gig in SL and not NL1 and he knows it!
So is Long in RL terms.
All players have a lot to prove when moving into coaching, and I don't see why firstly, he's so lucky, and secondly, it matters if he has been. Obviously somebody has heard what he has to say about coaching and was suitably impressed enough to offer him a job, end of story.

His ability on the pitch will matter very little as a coach!
He is one of the most unprofessional players ever in RL terms
Sorry, but why was he "lucky", he has played at the top level, fair enough the last two years have been a bit of a joke but that doesn't reflect on him as a player, more the club for signing him.
His presence at Salford, along with the new ground, will give them a bit of cache (I can't be bothered with the accents on the letters), that will be good for the team. Would I want him at Hull under Fubar, not a chance, would I have wanted him at Hull under Noble, not a chance, would I want him at Hull under Bennett, absolutely.
I don't think he has head coach qualities, but he may well make a very useful assistant, put it this way, if someone like Radford has a career in coaching then Long certainly has possibilities, lets not forget McBanana is GB coach and Long has forgotten more about the game that Steve ever knew.
Wow you changed your mind quickly from page 24
Longy's playing ability is not in question...Longys IQ is!.......Longy may make a decent coach but he will never be a decent coach above NL1 imo, please feel free to bookmark.

where have I changed my tune, I just don't understand why he is "lucky", Agar, Webster and Last are all a lot luckier, they are proven failiures, at least Long hasn't screwed a young players career up, yet.
Rule and Pearson video is now on website , any interesting questions ? I haven't got access to computer so can't watch it
agar been given a job for life and freedom of the city
There was no respect for sean long as he used to play tricks on people and never went through with his promise to build that gypsey site so they never offered him the head coach role
