If we was planning on keeping O'Meley he'd have been signed a lot earlier IMO. He was in paper the other week saying he had nothing sorted and we'd not even spoke to him about him staying. Doesn't sound like he was first choice for 2013 to me.

Remember Higham leaving Saints for Bradford, and then immediately being swapped for Newton at Wigan in 2006?

This sort of thing has happened before due to clubs not wanting to sell to rivals. Could be an option...
