Have to say that whilst I can see that there don't seem to be many (any?) better alternatives available, from what I've seen he's not exactly an exciting prospect. I wouldn't say he was a patch on McKinnon, either, and doubt anybody would if McKinnon was still here.

Hopefully he hasn't shown his best over here and we'll see a better player if he has signed.

The one redeeming factor with mcdonnell is that gentle knows him well so we should trust his judgement - I've always thought he was cack myself but I'm sure gentle knows what he's doing

Indeed, just look at the reaction to the signing of McGoldrick when it was announced and what a different player he has been to us.

I'm big enough to admit that he's been a lot better for us than I expected. That doesn't erase all the cheap shots I've seen him do and mean I entirely approve of the way he's conducted himself in his time in SL, however.
