If i was Lynch i would be offended that he is put in the same bracket as cusack tbh...I know what u are saying about age but lynch doesnt seem to be stopping yet and at the end of the day we have taking risk on worse players then him. I mean mckinnon major knee construction surgery and has dodgy hamstrings and is quite old for a back where pace goes with age unlike props who rely more on power and stamina then pace.
If we are taking risks on goodish to average players then we must take small risks with top quality players who would make a difference like a lynch or a peacock imo.
£100-150k transfer fees are not a small risk in rugby league. It's great that we seem to have been bought out by someone willing to invest in us, but that doesn't mean we should expect him to be some sort of sugar daddy ready to fritter away money on short term signings just to cause a stir. Lynch could make a difference to us for a couple of years, the same £150k spent on younger players and/or their development could make a difference to us for 10 or more. Spend money on transfer fees if the right players are available, not just for the sake of it.
And as for Lynch taking offence at being in the same bracket as Cusack, Cusack has an NRL win to Lynch's SL win, with a further 3 GF appearances under his belt. The difference is that you've been watching Lynch in his prime whereas we saw Cusack with his best days behind him and approaching retirement, but you're then actually suggesting we do pretty much the same for Lynch and pay a transfer fee for the privilege.
