I got a lot of stick on here for commenting on him being off for "stress", obviously it's not so debilitating that he can't go out to a concert with Longy tonight. I don't suppose the club were left with anywhere to go but to allow him this leave but its been several weeks now, he still isn't back and the club have not given any timetable for his return. I hope they are monitoring the situation closely. I still believe its all too easy these days for people to claim stress and get time off work causing more expense for others and there seems very little employers can do without it. It cost the Uk government over 3 billion pounds last year, imagine how many jobs and services could be saved if people had more personal responsibility ?
Most approaches to treating mental health are holistic...Basically whatever suits the client, if it be a concert, gym or shopping trip it is irrelevant. The treatment is about getting the client to full health, it is not clear what triggered his stress, what level he is at and what care plan is in place so it would be wrong to judge.
Also on topic most industries pay 6 months full pay, then 6 months half pay, although I am not sure where professional sports people stand, I know most have insurance so not sure if that is triggered, or how it affects the salary cap etc.
