Uate was a machine in SOO, he throws his body into the defence after every kick return.

However I do think Briscoe has world class qualities. His ability to run at pace through opposition defences and create a chance of scoring from a stand still is phenomenal.

Don't get me wrong mate i agree with you completely, he is a freak but he is far from the best in world, i would like to see him test himself eventually in the NRL in a better competition and around better players.
Yeh maybe not Duffie based on this season's form but he has the potential to be a top winger. As you say Yoh Yeh and Uate are outstanding.

I don't think he is best in the world, I just think he has world class qualities. He is still sometimes caught out of position and not the most reliable under the high ball (however the one he took yesterday over his head was class!).

He is without doubt the best in the league IMO. Where he takes his ability is up to him, but when I watch him I can't help but think I'm seeing a future superstar on the pitch.

Agree with all that mate.

Thought the same myself, and remembered these comments on Briscoe by General Zod:

"The hard evidence was there for all to see - the kid does not have any significant pace so why can't FC fans like you just accept the fact?"

"I just don't think he's fast or agile enough."

"I've felt the need to educate the FC fans about why Tom Briscoe does not have the athletic ability to play at international level unlike Fox."

"I'm merely making the point that Peter Fox in top-form is the closest thing I've seen to Offiah since his retirement"

"Tom Briscoe just isn't good enough - end of."

Always raises a smile that one. Just a gentle reminder what a complete tool Zod is. Should full out some GML ones too!

So were now arguing about how good/bad Briscoe is?

Fast, strong, great step and improving plus contracted for plenty more years. What's not to be happy about.

Not arguing, appreciating!

I can't wait to see how he progresses over the years.

The coaching staff have been encouraging him to back his speed instead of side-stepping and body-swerving into trouble. Those two tries were examples of him backing himself - the first involved a lot of guile and a great hand-off, the second started with great acceleration. His major strength for me is his... erm... strength. He busts tackles, against good tacklers, and then accelerates very quickly. After that, he may not be the fastest but he is fast. I used to want him to develop into a centre for those very reasons but I'm happy where he is now.

Out of interest, which wingers (so no Boyd, Hayne etc) do you think are better?
