It’s a perennial debate as to why the three club’s supporter base is so limited. Rovers highest average gate is from the 80’s and was around 11,000 again ours was 13,500 from the same era, not sure what city’s is but guess around 20,000 from the early premiership years. Thats it tops. Most of my football following mates support teams out of the City, Notts. Forest, Leeds, Arsenal of course Man. U, I’m a long standing Everton fan and take in a couple of games a year. I went to all City v Everton games, Everton won them all. It is what it is and the trend won’t change, people stating building FC’s attendance to anything more than 13,500 is pie in the sky, the attendance average is inflated by 2 home derbies in a season. Leeds, Wigan and Saints don’t ring many supporters any more, in fact I would say our best gate for away support is Cas. Rovers excepted.
Why do you keep going on about AVERAGE attendance?
Yeah over the season the average may be around 11k but it’s about having the facilities and size too accommodate a crowd of around 13k to 15k, as per Sunday, and the odd game when this would be the case. That is more important?
Now you could argue why stop at 15k then? But we have to be realistic and for me 15k is about right and a crowd of around 11k in that size stadium wouldn’t look sparse.

Very good point, need to look at how frequent the peaks in crowd are and not just the average. Also as seats become limited people get put off if they cant sit together. Id agree 15k is the minimum to aim for.

So we stay in the KC simple. But we’re not going to get anywhere near 15,000 crowds. In our best years in Super League we got 11,500 regularly. My point is, we’re not paying for the smaller ground, if it ever happens, I stated it’s all pie in the sky but people pushing for 15,000 regular crowds is bullocks. It hasn’t happened and never will, history tells you that. I’ve been there dunnit , seenit. It really isn’t going to happen.

I really don’t think you read my post fully, heyho. The whole point is, it was said that we may well jump between stadiums in the case of larger crowds. Did you go to the Wigan semi at Donny? 2 top teams couldn’t fill that small ground. I remember fans saying that the choice of venue was poor for the expected crowd,Wigan brought about 2,000 fans , if that.

We aren't talking about regular 15000 attendances. We are talking about 15000 attendances for high profile games. These could be derbies, play off games, games with a special offer on tickets etc.
It's a while ago but look at 2010. We sold a lot of passes on the back of signing Long, O'Meley and Fitzgibbon. We got nine attendances over 13k that year including 13352 v Cas, 14466 v Bradford, 14131 v Warrington and 16208 v Leeds.

It’s all conjecture, we don’t know if any plans will go forward or if it’s another Allamesque feint. My point is a regular crowd of 15,000 is unobtainable, history tells you that. Quotes of away supporters at the KC from the past are not sustainable now, as I quoted earlier, the best away support apart from Rovers is Cas.

Correct, 12 k is our absolute limit and is it worth the financial strain of a bigger stadium for one or two games that would go beyond that.
Im not sure on the figures but they is a reason we have seen the upper west closed for a derby game. Financially we would be better off in a 12.
