We certainly need a back row

Unless Staveley is seen as ready to step up to SL next year and join the back row rotation - with Lane, Savelio?

doubt it but when you look at our potential back row of Lane and Savelio if fit its pretty underwhelming.
If we have Lane,Cator, and Fash all in the 17 there is a distinct lack of go forward.
Our young lads coming through are not ready yet for regular first team football and must say i am concerned at the moment about the make up of our first team squad for next season.
Just wonder if we might hold on to Bowden for another season and move Ligi into the second row

Do we know a great deal about Hoy?

Seems to have a hand in quite a few assists. I honestly think Connor has the best I play kicking game at the club and don't understand why it's left to Reynolds and Gale at times. Connor seems to be the only one who will attempt the grubber kicks we all sorely want.

I think if you can get Connor taking charge of kicks then i see no reason why the 3 of them couldn't work together

There's a Hull fan on Twitter who lives in Aus and has seen a fair bit of Hoy, he's compared him to Paul Cooke.

Agree on Ligi but very harsh on Lane and Dre I think they both run good lines and are good in defence.

I saw that and it was a ridiculous comparison, can you imagine Cooke ever playing fullback because of his speed and evasiveness.

Personally think Sao wouldn't be a bad option for SR as his work rate is fantastic, good defence and isn't a plodder when on the move. That said Mau is quality so would need to replace him with another of similar quality. By the sounds of it the club want to bring in younger players and sadly Mau is not deemed young enough to get a 2 yr deal which for me is the sensible way to go by the club.

Radford signing Edwards at 33 next season for another 3 years is an example of the type of deals that didn't help us at all.

As for Hoy I just wonder if he'll come predominantly as a FB or HB, I think Connor would excel in the halfs if given a free roaming role but then we'd need an organising half to compliment Connor in that role and not sure Truman is that type of player or has it in him to be the organiser on the field.

Sao played second row against Leeds early this season due to injuries and I seem to remember and did a very good job. I would prefer to see him in at prop or even a third middle. Someone on here said he had already signed for Cas which I find hard to believe.

If we offered Ma'u one year plus another year option in our favour I'd be happy with that.

Edwards three years deal is utter madness!

Connor will end up in the halfs sooner or later but as you say he needs an organiser to compliment him. I thought Gale would play that role.

From what I've seen of Staveley which admittedly is very little he looks to be a 8/13 middle. Size wise despite his age he looks ready for SL now.

I'll be surprised if Bowden is here next season even if Sao is moved to SR. Laidlow and Staveley should hopefully be developed enough to be squad players.
