Some Cas fans seem to think he’s going there, assisting Lingard.

I imagine for Wigan, Catalan and saints, they take full advantage of the marquee player rules, it is easier to attract players to the club due to the increased likelihood of winning trophies and appearing in finals and the lifestyle on offer in the south of France is an obvious pull factor for Catalan. Wigan and saints have excellent academies to draw on as well which means they can pay other players a bit more, we currently don't have that luxury but hopefully that will change if more players do break through this season as Litten did last season

I get all that. But they can still only have two marquee players (changing to 3 this year) one of them can be a club trained player eg a Welsby. One can be a federation trained player. You can still only have one non federation trained marquee player. The non federation marquee is largely irrelevant as you have to pay them more than 150k to then get the dispensation after that. I dare say there won’t be many players across the league being paid more than that.
I just don’t see any real top talents coming through the academy, everyone was raving about Litten early doors but I’m not convinced on him. Hopefully that’s because he was over exposed and had to play more games than we maybe wanted him to.
I’m afraid as it stands we will be languishing towards the bottom again, and I can’t see it changing anytime soon.

Until we can produce top talent as well as afford to pay for x 3 marquee calibre players, then the reality is we l struggle to compete for grand finals.

We need this covid loan out the way, and a positive is in the interview the vibe i got was pearson has it covered, possibly with help due to the 2 new big sponserships. Then once the lease is sorted and hopefully we end up alot better off financially which in turn attracts extra investors, maybe then we can progress to marquee players.

As well as hopefully produce some top talent from the academy.

Have just watched the AP interview, and he actually states that there will be an overseas half back coming in, announced within 7 days. He also said about another outside back. That to me suggests that Carlos or Scott will focus solely on being a back rower. For me, I hope that is Carlos. I actually think he could go well there. Decent feet, good upper body strength and an offload.

That would finish us up quite nicely, if its a good overseas 7

It is on the Season Pass email, towards the bottom of the email - its a 38minute interview. Mostly what is in the HDM, but a lot of extra stuff too

Hate to be a downer but im not convinced the sponsores are that huge they are relatively small businesses its not like when a global name like P&O came in but that was back in very different economic times

That was me assuming theyve helped towards being able to sort the covid loan.

Either way, hes moved away from the rhetoric that the club was at risk due to the covid loan.

Have said for a while that i think Carlos could do a job in the back row. Very similar to Kallum Watkins in size and build.

We could have squeezed another season out of Griffin ,The form he was in last season was probably near his best . Shame it ended like it did for him .
