Not necessarily, sometimes signings are made just to add depth to the squad. Mr Bartos describes the best possible scenario IMO.

I would be very surprised if Martin didn't get the 3 shirt.

We need to know who's signing this is.

Where is our coach I have yet to hear a RH interview with him - nothing on FC TV- when does he arrive.

This is a McRae signing very worrying.

Gentle is coming end of october , he's just got his visa according to radford on RH

not at all, I quite agree with the general malaise about this signing, Hay/Radford as assistants I can take on merit and see how it goes, but surely a leaky defender with a poor try scoring record isn't the best we can do with an owner who said he was happy "to invest my money on fees if necessary", add that to the removal of the voucher exchange and the farce of the chosen 400 for the first forum and I am underwhelmed.

What I do not believe is that AP is in cahoots with Allam in any way shape or form, and I hope I am proven right.

Crusaders' 3rd top try scorer with 9

Scored 2 tries against Giants if you search 'Huddersfield 40 Crusaders 12' on you know what.

I hope this signing indicates that Turner will be given the number 3 shirt next year, with Martin being signed as backup should things not work out, or if an 'old head' is needed on that flank (particularly in defense).

The back end of this season Turner looked good, scored and set up a few trys. His build is perfectly suited to the centre spot, and maybe a full off season training in that position will do him the world of good.

Martin will be able to pass on a few things to him, particularly positioning in defense (which I think is his main weakness).

People need to realise it's only a 1 year deal, meaning the club are waiting to see if Turner matures, or waiting for a top class centre to become available. He's a stop gap (just like Phelps was) which will provide much needed backup should either centre get injured.

I'm hoping you're right. Very disappointing signing.

Can only be a stopgap as the target we may have been after hasn't worked out, but may do for 2013.

Will support him when he wears the shirt, but underwhelmed really.

Didn't Yeaman walk all over him in the latest game ? Remember listening to it and they said Martin had a poor game and got wound up in the end

No disrespect but if I were a Wakey fan with all the troubles they have been through and found out we were signing Martin I would be disappointed.

So as a Hull fan with AP's rallying call of wanting to win things ringing in my ears I am utterley gobsmacked with this signing. Turner and Whiting are better centres, i'd rather play Horne there or even do what other clubs do and blood a youngster and play Crooks. No matter how you dress this up it's a pathetic signing and reminds of Bomber at Salford.

So AP said we will show our intent in October, well Martin should not be near a top 8 side so what does that intent mean now?

If we wanted a stop gap signing then sign Senior. Ok won't be as cheap as Martin but I thought we'd moved on from cheap.

If Kath/RA had made this signing people would be calling for a public hanging.

Completely agree Paul. No matter how you look at it this signing makes no sense whatsoever, and is doubly disappointing given the statements made by AP on our new direction.

Also have to say the the spin in the article on his signing makes anything the previous regime came out with look trivial in comparison. Plus ca change...

Would have stuck with Whiting, Turner and Crooks as the right centre with Sharp and Lyne as the wings if this was the only player available with us.

Give those players the chance to improve under PG with a more structured defensive structure that hopefully will be adopted
