Isn't Rooney another Thorman?





I liked Rooney a few seasons back but he doesn't appear to have ripped up any trees over the past two years. I could be wrong but why are we interested in Wakey cast off's...plus how old is he?

I'm not even sure what position they're focusing on with him - do they want him at 6?

Me too. Does that mean Long at 7, Rooney at 6, Horne somewhere else?

But to go back to the original question, whats the different between Rooney and Thorman?



I'd rather stick with R Horne at 6 than either of them. Would be an odd signing for me. (maybe would have been good a few years ago, as Thorman may have been)

Possibly or maybe we don't go for him full stop! Like i said earlier i liked Rooney of a few years back but he seems to have gone off the boil (and why is he at Barrow if he is SL quality?!).

Agar said he wanted backup for the halves and maybe he sees Rooney as the option. I would certainly be happier bringing in Rooney than I would Thorman.

Really interesting what you say there WW because a few years back, or make that 2 years back, he was the name I feared on their team sheet he ran really well in the line and always caused us problems, perhaps the pressures surrounding his sons illness have something to do with it or perhaps as some Wakey fans would insinuate he has issues with the coach? Not top calibre though at present, we seem to be linked and signing a lot of "Were Good" but not at present, folks at the moment!

I heard Hull wanted Rooney on loan but Wakefield declined it.

If we do sign Rooney I think it will be a good signing as he will be great cover which is what we need.

You only have to watch his debut for Barrow the other night to see that the guy has the game for SL. He was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch.

Thorman would have been as well though, and therein lies the problem.



We don't know what the issues are with him at Wakey, he is a talented player but my concern is him being coached by Windy Miller.

Thorman used to a job when he played for Huddersfield ironically his better games being against us. I have absolutely no idea what happened to him as when he donned our jersey he became utter cack. Ive had enough of him im afraid and now think it would be great to give Rooney a chance and see if he can do exactly the same !!!

Kear didnt want to let him go to competition which is why he has gone to Barrow. Big falling out though so he will be moving on.

Rooney could turn out to be a very astute signing tbh, giving us options at 6,7 should long ,Horne suffer any injuries putting pressure on horne and pushing each other as the y will both want the 6 spot imo



With long getting the team about the park and hopefuly with his sniping runs and half breaks Horne and Rooney will be the 1st ones to support any breaks following him around the park throw in Tansey and there is competition for places which will only benefit the team imo
