Still think our backs are more than good enough if we strengthen and improve our pack as that is where the bulk of recruitment needs to be done. Still think Griffin has been great at centre this season and been very valuable there. We have Griffin, Conner, Tuimavave, Faraimo, Swift & MDJ already so why do we need Fonua adding? Unless we unload a couple of backs.
Whilst he may have been more exciting than Faraimo I don’t think he’s far behind as for all the good stuff Fonua did he had more brain farts than Faramino.
It’s the pack we need sorting as likely losing Westerman, Hadley, Mini, Manu & Paea so there’s a lot to replace and try to improve on to move us forward. We can’t rely on Tag bailing us out on his own like he has done before.
We need more physicality and size in the middles and at least one or two with good handling/offloading ability.
Not always a good idea bringing players back either.
