On recent form, Griffin doesn't deserve to be sat on the bench as cover. We need him on the field.

And last seasons form, and from a personal point of view for griffin, some very available centre spots up for grabs in the England team.

Its a 17 man game and its whats best for the team.Griffin knows he will be moved around between centre and second row and probably start some games on the bench and acknowledges this in a recent HDM interview.
It also means because of this versatility he will be in the starting squad most games if fit.
Savellio started on the bench at Leeds and he was MOM

You might not know, but how many games as griffin played 2nd row in super league, just don’t see the point of trying to turn him into a second rower in the prime of his life, fair enough could do a job and can be useful during interchanges, but for me he’s our best centre, why move him

I would suggest you ask our coach and here is what Josh said in the HDM Today

The high-profile return of Mahe Fonua had increased the competition for places at centre and with more options at his disposal in the outside backs, head coach Lee Radford looked to strengthen his hand even further in the back-row too.

Griffin was the obvious choice. A physical runner of the ball with a good step, a strong fend and an explosive nature over a short distance, Griffin’s skill set has long convinced Radford the ex-Salford man’s utility value can be a big asset to Hull.

“I’ve got that utility tag now. It means I’ll probably be in the team every week, but also means I could be in a different position each week, so that’s tough,” explained Griffin.

“Last year I played centre most of the time and stepped into the back row a little, but if it gives Radders another option then that’s fine.

"If the squad benefits, we’re winning games and getting to finals, I’ll play wherever I’m asked. It’s not a bad thing unless you let it be, I’m trying to use it to my advantage.”

So, fact, he played the majority at centre last season.
Fact, you said he wouldn't ever make a Super League centre.
Fact, he swept our awards board last season, although in your opinion, there were more worthy candidates.
And yes, we mostly all agree that's it possible he may have more of a utility role this season due to the depth of our squad.
Got it.

I’ve not watched the game back yet, but I thought Shaul was mom, I know he and Manu were getting interviewed by Sky after the game.

I would have given it to Savelio but Shaul was a good choice too. Very solid team performance in this opening match. Leeds were just not up to the same level.

Liligiifo Sao for me Fred, he seemed to be everywhere, but as you say a very solid performance, Sav was outstanding as well.

Watched the game back again last night and Sao was very good. Hungry for involvement and the pre-season buzz about him looking justified.
Andre excellent and thought Griffin was another standout.

It was a good day out Wiz, once you found a pub to sit in, but it’s a shame the away end in a such a nice ground has no cover, everyone got a right soaking.
