... and why will dual passes help? By my reckoning both clubs would lose money on any dual passes sold, they'd have to be cheaper than 2 individual passes.

And would it really entice anyone to pay nearly twice as much for a "2xpass" when they're doubtful about buying just one (for either club)?

Pricing would have to be carefully thought out by both clubs but the main idea is to get fans into the ground in what is likely to be very challenging times next season.
As i said a lot of fans football and R/L wont attend next season due to a confidence factor and the longer fans dont attend live matches the more difficult it becomes to get them back.
Much better to have 15000 in a 25000 capacity stadium for football and R/L at a reduced priced incentive pass then 7 or 8 thousand paying the normal price.
Our only saving grace will be winning one of the major comps this season

I agree that getting people back in the stands will be a big challenge. Many will not feel confident in being surrounded by strangers unless there is a vaccine which seems unlikely and as you say there will be a lot of more casual fans whi have just got used to not going and found other things to do with their time. If as is likely we slide into recession many fans won't be able to afford to go.

I cannot see a dual ticket deal with Hull City whilst the Allams still own the club. For one thing I'm not sure they are bothered about attendances given the farce over their pricing scheme which dragged on for years causing crowd figures to halve.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Agreed. Many fans wouldnt go if they got a free pass nevermind picking up another 7.5k paying fans, whatever the price of the ticket. Id certainly have no interest in watching City.

Nice idea but i just cant see it being feasible.

Numbers are on the left hand side of the graph if that helps.

Re: Contract Talks & FCs Future : Thu Jul 09, 2020 11:02 pm
Personally I think the club should increase the membership a small amount across the board, I don't think many fans would begrudge an increase all things considered. I also think the club should simplify things and remove the paying early discount, does this really make a difference to when people pay, would removing it stop people buying a pass and would it really impact the club to get the money a few weeks or month/s later from those that could afford to buy early in any case (anyone have a number on early buyers?). Is it worth the loss of the extra income from offering the earlybird offer?

I'd like to think that the club could maybe encourage some 'seniors' to pay something over and above the listed pass price given the significant discount already received, not all seniors are in the lower income brackets, it would be a great gesture to help the club from those that could afford it and would be paying closer to what the full membership is worth.

what about bonds, these have been touted as raising funds for sporting clubs, low yield/returns but could help a club to weather finan cial storm/invest in being better. streams for clubs

Does that mean the price should be decided by means testing for Seniors?
Surely given the choice most people would choose the most affordable (for them) option, then they may have some disposable income to spend on shirts etc. in the shop.
