Comedian Adam Hills will become the president of the Rugby Football League in 2025. Just saw this headline on BBC rugby news. Fair play to him, his coverage on Channel 4 was pretty good. Just made me smile, a comedian presiding over a joke shop

Honorary president** why is it a bad thing? He's passionate about the sport, plays PDRL for wire, and can promote it at a national level

I liked Channel fours coverage
Not the best KO time but at least they stuck to it and everyone then knew when it was on TV.
Unlike the BBC which was/is all over the place.
personally dont think the BBC have any interest now in R/L and only outbid Channel 4 so they didnt continue to make inroads into the televised game

Yes, Tony Adams and Lindsay Hoyle done it too. It's a good idea, a well known name regularly promoting the sport.

Think the appointment of Hills as president is the best they’ve done in years. The guy loves and breathes RL ok he supports Wire but you can’t have every thing.

Think he will certainly do more and have a bigger impact than most of his predecessors who despite their status’ in other fields didn’t do a great deal for the game.
