The only way Saints were ever going to play a full strength side against Widnes was if Saints couldn't re-arrange the testimonial game. Saints agreed to play Widnes before the Barrow game was cancelled and had they played Barrow on Sunday, there's no way they could have fielded another full strength side just 2 day later.

Fair comment and I fully expect us to get jolly rogered (certainly in the 1st half) come Friday.

Manutd v ManCity was also on bbc television.So a few would have stayed in to be honest.According to my friends only a few saints fans.New crusaders?

No. Three bloody matches in one week! We turned out well for the Widnes friendly last season, because we didn't have three matches in one week last season.

It was a joke mate. Not been funny,but i know a few saints fans who look down at widnes.I think alot of fans thought it be a easy win, otherwise more would have gone.

Just got back from down south and im gutted i missed the match but with a lot of youngsters out i think we more than held our own against a mixed saints side. Thompson sounds as if he had a good game as did grady and thacks and i love the new away kit. Bring on the Salford.
