O'Connor buoyant over Widnes Vikings' Super League bid I've only just stumbled over this but I think it is a brilliant piece... It's got me really excited this morning about our chances in the next round of applications and for today at least I don't have any doubts that it won't be us preparing this time next year for our Super League entrance in 2012. The turn-a-round that has taken place at the club has been staggering since the dark days of administration. I have to admit the first time I heard we had been taken over by Steve O'Connor I didn't have the foggiest who he was but I've been nothing but impressed. I have heard from a very reliable source of how at least one of the other bids were thinking of running the club if they had been successful and we would be in an altogether different position had that been the case. We're in pole position at the moment.. I'm giving the RFL the benefit of the doubt (sort of) that they will pick us. I think that we're the best bet for a number of reasons and can be used as an example to other clubs that they should get their house in order. The last time around.. we came from a position of thinking we didn't have chance to being bitterly disappointed that we were turned around. This time we will have our noses in front for the full race.

Your in and he knows it. Realistically your probably the only club below Superleague level that can make the transition without too much difficulty at the moment.

Thats logical thinking that mate, the RFL normally have a different opinion.

Don't rule out a bid from a scottish team in the next batch of applications. That info has come from someone who told me that salford and the crusaders were in last time around a full 6 weeks before the announcements were made.

A Championship club is guaranteed a place in SL for 2012. How can a Scottish club take this place, when there isn’t even a club in either the Championship or Championship 1?

6 Weeks, all NL clubs knew they were in 6 Months before. Total farce that costs clubs a small fortune.

Salford and Wakey/Cas out next time, Widnes and Toulouse in.

Unless stick to their 'rules' on Toulouse then it's one of those 3 (least ahead with ground?) out Widnes in!
