I'd say Craven, Flynn, Gerrard and perhaps Kelly are all Super League players lying in wait too. I rate Gerrard particularly highly.

You can count on one hand the amount of players who could hack it in SL from the Championship.

Only in my opinion of course, but none are from Widnes.

In respect of that though, you do have some excellent youngsters. Your recruitment campaign for 2012 for SL should be very interesting.

Snowy, I think it's unfair to say that Championship players can't hack it. Look at Hull KR for instance. It's impossible to completely rip apart a team and start from scratch too. I'd say each club in the top six, maybe top eight, all have some talent which would go okay in the top division.

Pepe, fair enough Re: your views on Gerrard. But I'd counter you by pointing out he is 19 years old. I don't think he's particularly small anyway, but he has still time on his side to bulk up. He's a contender for our player of the season for mine. I really think he'll come into his own next year and I hope he is given a SL contract, if it so happens that we're going up.

I didn't realise that Rich and I agree with your assessment about his size. I actually thought he was in his mid twenties!?! I think he could definitely improve if he has that much time on his size and think he has shown glimpses that he could be a very effective player.

Ah. He's actually 20, 21 in October. Still, I think he's a player that is coming on leaps and bounds.

Even still Rich.. I agree he's still young and learning his trade. Could be a really handy player in a year or two.
