Hello All,

I was wondering whether anyone knew of any decent free image repositories. I'm a burgeoning web developer and I've managed to find one or two sites in the past that have offered their images gratis but even these have succumbed recently.



I don't really want to get into the world of just copying images from Google as I've heard one or two stories about them being traceable if the owner really gives that much of a damm.

Can anyone help..

Also, many of them claim to be royalty free but still charge.. what does royalty free actually mean.

I've always used photobucket. Still free as far as I know.

Cheers Chris,

It looks like there could be some useful stuff on there. I've been using stock.xchng up until now but they look like they are being swallowed up by Getty.

Do you know whether the photos on photobucket can just be used.
