That's absolutely the attitude I'm looking for. We have gone about the squad building in quite an understated way, but this years squad already looks better than last years, and thus far only one loan / dual reg player? I'm confident we will surprise a few this year. Everybody has written us off and that could well play into our hands.

I wouldn't ever expect you to give us anything Greg.. my partisan friend.

Now the problem is that opposition fans may have written you off but the opposition players probably wont and they will all want to prove a point against SL`s newest team. That will work against Widnes. Besides it wouldnt be the new season if Widnes fans wernt saying they had recruited well.

Widnes certainly look a lot stronger on paper than last year, but as we all know, it's not a game played on paper. Leigh, Barra, Fev, Fax, maybe Sheffield and Batley. If nothing else it certainly looks like it is going to be a tough season for everyone, but we should be able to enjoy some great games of rugby.

The problem i see with this season is the fixtures. Leigh play most of the top teams twice in the first half of the season i think, there is no play everyone once then play them again, So the league tables are going to be all over the place and by half way will not be a true reflection of half way through the season.
