I will suggest most Wigan and Saints fans regard Wire as their 'big game' now.

Wigan and St Helens are 2 teams on our doorstep that we want to beat to the games top honours. We can hardly beat Widnes to them as you ain't even in the same division.

Also,has there EVER been any rivalry between Widnes and St Helens or Widnes and Wigan over the years? Don't think so! As your cup final is when you play us,not them.

Obviously didn't watch alot of rugby league in the 80's and early 90's? Widnes and Wigan had a fantastic rivalry for the big prizes, consistantly. Buy a Rothmans Yearbook and have a look.

How are Widnes going going to compete with the top clubs like Wire next season? Your current side would lose to the Warrington under 11s.

You can't attract the best players because they want to sign for top clubs that will be winning trophies.

So that rules Wire in and Widnes out.

Whether You like it or not and Certainly the pie eaters love to say its a nothing game History proves other wise. I appreciate you won two league titles in that era but it doesnt mean you had titanic battles with the Wigan club

having said that the second biggest game from those times was against Widnes.


I hope that tempo is rekindled and the chavs and retards (wirewonder)dont ruin it for the decent fans.
