Bring an experienced coach in, with a quantifiable level of achievement, and let him bring in whomever the hell he likes and not foist him off with the old failing, baggage currently at the club.

Is Stu Wilkie still around at Widnes ? He would make an excellent Assistant or even Head Coach (if he wanted it).

He was assistant last year but left to take up a role with the RFL IIRC. Te guys a genius but never stays put anywhere for too long.
