Brilliant!!! You've made my miserable week that much more bearable. Whatever happens in the game and however many people get shafted (and I include the Crusaders players and fans in that regard) it is pleasing to know that there are some decent people left in the game, especially those that follow it. To all the people on here and the terrific Leigh fans we all me last weekend - I salute you! This game belongs to us, not Lewis and Wood.

Whats happened is, the result was going to be wakefield down, widnes in. They've skimmed every other bid. Gave it lip service. That was what they wanted, that was what was going to happen. Then, the Crusaders have pulled out, or they've been forced for some reason, at the nth hour, and all of a sudden someone says "so we don't have to drop wakefield after all!"

They've probably not read Fax's bid all that much and were not prepared for this actuality. Maybe the Crucrusaders demanded more money out of them and they told them to get lost. Either way, Wakefield are through on more undelivered promises.

I fail to see how it is an obsenity to drop a team from super league but not keep teams in the championship long term indefinitely. They've been through admin, they're still playing out of that stadium they promised to be out of years and years ago, and they're nearly at the bottom of super league. They're relegation fodder and not using this opportunity to put Fax in makes no sense unless we work on the basis that the RFL don't really know what they are doing.

its my understanding that the mersey in general and widnes/runcorn in particular marked the southern edge of the danelaw, so maybe we should spread it further south, and then come back to consolidate our already strong hold in the north
