I thought the defence won us the game. It's a bit strange to be saying that when you've scored 40 but that was down to the confidence to go forward that our defence gave us. Best performance for a long long time.

Castleford were a shambles I am afraid. Kicking nonexistant, few attacking options, and I never felt too worried that we were going to be overwhelmed at any point.

But that isn't to say our performance wasn't magnificent. We neutralised them. We dominated them. People stepped up and Castleford backed down.

My MOM was Frank Winterstein but there are a lot of candidates tonight. Just an overall beautiful performance. Seeing Carney get some comeuppance pre game, watching us composed and well controlled in spite of the weather, watching very very few penalties given away (seriously a bugbear and we've finally broken that and look what happened), no stupidity from players, and the whole of the sky audience seeing it. I am over the moon right now. What more is there to say? Over the moon!

Yes we really did kick booty tonight i thought Hep cahill was imense tonight mcshane clarke worked well ah van always strong over all great performance!

i agree with frank winterstein he seems to be improving game on game he is making plenty of meters and was winning the collision he was my mom too

I was quite elated on the drive home. I left the Stadium at 10.00pm, and got home at 11.25pm after an easy drive on the M6.

Thinking of the performance I could not put a finger on the top performer as they all did well. D Betts should get a lot of credit in getting a team performance from his squad.

Very impressed with the handling in the conditions. I don't think we dropped the ball all that much last night and as you said, the defence is dramatically improved from where we where a month or so back. Three tacklers going in and there was something of a forward move by the line at the Cas ptb. Even the markers got involved a couple of times last night which was good to see.
I thought the forwards all put in a real stint but Allen was tireless last night. Kite showed glimpses of what he is capable of and the real work is now on to get him to be able to do that for 20 minute spells.

What a difference it makes to have a player like McShane too? It would be really interesting to see how he worked swapping with White who was finding some form at acting halfback. I think it was Mellor's best game for us also. He looked lively all night and he showed a real turn of pace for his try.

Hopefully we can take some confidence into the Saints game and be competitive. I think on the whole we have done well at home and have been improving as the season wears on. If Saints rest a few players involved in the exiles game then we might make this a close game.

Considering the conditions the lack of handling errors by us was quite something. At no point in the game did they look better than us. This is something.

Many people said we wouldn't win a game. We've won four. It's the nature of some of the losses that has been most worrying but you can't argue with last nights performance.

We stuck it to Cas and in all honesty that's been coming for the last 5 weeks, if we can maintain this level of intensity and consistency I can see us picking up another 2 wins which will leave us with 6 wins for the season and hopefully without a wooden spoon.

Job done for year '0' if that's the case.
