Good to see Widnes link up with a Championship Club and hopefully benefit both clubs.Maybe we can get talent from the Workington area, and also our youngsters will improve furthur like Tom Gilmore and Alex Gerrard.In a few years time i feel Widnes will be close to the Top 8.

This is an interesting development and hopefully beneficial to both clubs. Cumbria is a RL loving county and should get the focus it deserves. Will be looking out for the Workington results next season...

Another great signing announced today by Town - Adam Walne from Salford - a young prop with a big future in the game. He will gain great experience playing alongside our experienced players - Ewan Dowes, Jamie Thackray, Peter Lupton & Mark Calderwood.

We have several young players coming through who are all capable of SL in the future so it will be a very interesting year for us in the Championship testing out the young ones against the likes of Fev and Sheffield, etc.

Goodluck next year and i be watching your team closely next year.If a few dual go from Widnes and play i may go a few games if in the lakes, or nearer to Widnes.Hopefully we can get a good partnership and help each other out.

A pre-season friendly has been arranged between Widnes and Workington Town at the Stobart Stadium on Sunday, 13th January 2013.
