I read a while ago about Widnes developing fields on Liverpool Road and making a training ground and community pitches etc. Has this started to take place or is it not happening any more? Havent heard anything since the original plans were announced

It has gone a little bit quiet on this front and maybe one of the more local fans but I think this is still bubbling away. The last thing I could find on it was a proposal submitted to the council for the renovations into the proposed sports and recreation site (training ground) last year but I haven't seen anything since.

The buildings gone and the grounds been flattened but bugger all has happened since, my feeling is that it won't go ahead now, especially with what's happened to Steve as he was funding this himself. It might be one to ask at the next fans forum.
