Wildbore parts company with Vikings : Sun May 31, 2009 11:31 pm
Widnes Vikings have parted company with Loz Wildbore with immediate effect.

The Hull based fullback joined the Vikings in the close season from Featherstone Rovers where he picked up seven awards following their 2007 campaign but has struggled to balance work and training commitments with Widnes.

This was further compounded by the recent decision to train in the evenings and as a result the decision was taken to part company.

Everybody at Widnes Vikings wishes Loz well for his future career.

Sunday 31st May

Also regards that post about long that might well be true and he will be in a Widnes shirt next year. He was bopping in the clubs of Wigan a week back and said he and Steve Oconnor have spoken.

And to all the trolls, yes im very p!ssed, 1 win in 5 is a disgrace.

Im going to bed.

Not a surprise.

I dont think he is a particularly poor player just should have never been brought in on the terms that he was.

I dont know how many times I can type that the recruitment for this year has been laughable at best.

Season is over bar a NRC miracle.

He won player of the year in almost every category at last years awards night at Fev. However, as good a season as Loz had, the awards night may well have reflected the performances and committment of some of the rest of last years squad as much as it did those of Loz!!!

I think he tried to play one club off against another in the closed season (tho I'm sure there will be those who know more about that than I), and in the final outcome signed for Widnes. He had family members on our forum telling us he had super league clubs wanting his signature!!
Given his comments on facebook I'm not surprised he hasn't lasted the season.
I can't see Cas having the slightest bit of interest in him - but I'm not a coach! I can see him back at Donny next year!

Not sure how true these are but i heard on the grape vine that cas have expressed intrested to sign him at the end of this season and that he has also been linked to a move to gateshead. Although i cant see truth in either i do wish him the best of luck in his career.

I think all we did was swap fullbacks and both pay them more than what was on offer at the other end.

I still cant really believe that we ditched Ian Hardman after he didnt fancy the p/time offer he received from Widnes.

Not a world beater but a solid, and more importantly as were seeing now, a local based player.

Whatever McCormack and whoever else behind it where thinking in bringing in a p/time FB from Yorkshire, training one day a week il never know.

why cas would want him i don't know ?? he has no super league experience and even if he did go there it would probably be for the reserve side on little money.
and he's not gonna travel to gateshead if he wouldn't even travel to widnes! maybe ste mac will let him take this mickey and only train once a week if thats what he wants!!
bad attidude off someone who wants to be a proffesional

Why on earth would Cas want to sign Wildbore?!?!?!

I can see him going to Gateshead to play under McCormack again.

Bad attitude never gets you anywhere in sport!
