Anthony Mullally and a few of our 18's are of to Australia for a year to play for Brisbane it seems, they will train and get used to the methods over there and then return to Widnes for the start of Super League 2012. Paul Cullen has initiated this and i think it's a cracking idea. Alex Browns name has been mentioned on the trust in Widnes forum and young Danny Hulme i think would do well going over there.

Good idea but IMO it should be for the younger ones, not players on the verge of the 1st team. As I've said on the trust site by the time Mullally comes back he'll be nearly 21 and only one sub appearance in the 1st team to his name. Players like Sam Burgess and James Graham had been in and around the 1st team for 3 or 4 years before they reached 21. Mullally's development has stalled over the past 18 months to 2 years and add on another 12 months is taking the pee a bit. No doubt any player would benefit from an experience like that but IMO we should be looking for Mullally to be getting game time and proving himself - not shipping him out for 12 months.

I think it has its risks to be honest. As a 19 year old going out to Brisbane its arguable that he might never want to come back!

However, with every innovation there lies a risk. Good on the club though. I hope it all works out for all parties concerned. Let's hope he comes back like the famous Queenslander Gorden Tallis!

So does that mean you are sending your players to Oz as next years Championship (like this years) does n't matter to you?

Sending youth players over does not mean the championship doesn't matter to us. It means the future, whatever that is, matters to us. Stop drawing conclusions based on bitter imaginations about Widnes and get over yourself.

It's not as if were sending Thackeray & Allen
Is this another post trying to blame Widnes for the removal of P&R I wonder

You will be SL bound before the Championship fixtures start. I wonder how motivated that will make all the other Championship teams. You are going to have an interesting season methinks

Sorry I must have imagined the bitter dissappointed and felt by the club and the fans after last years relatively poor season..

How disrespectful of you to even consider that we don't think every season in the Championship matters.
