Fantastic news if this comes off... Widnes Vikings aiming to take over derelict Widnes Recreation Club on Liverpool Road Certainly not the moves of a club resting on it's laurels and further proof of Sir SOCs intent to invest.

Spent many a day on those playing fields in my youth. Spent entire summers there truth be known.

There were rumours, about six months ago, that the club wanted to turn it into a training facility. This would be a great move, if it comes off. It would make the club even more professional.

Great news, 2 pitches to be used by the 18's and reserves an 1st team and an all weather to boot complete with a pimped club house.

That's a damned lie. I stopped doing daisy chains after the nasty near miss bee sting incident. My "Why Don't You?" letter was for my extensive and interesting collection of photographs of old tumble dryers circa 1950-1951. They said it was literally too interesting to put onto television, which I wholeheartedly agree with.

good news for the sport of RugbyLeague. Serious development like this strengthens the professional base of the sport.
