Official announcement from the Fax Club.....

The ground does not need to be emptied between the games - it is a "proper" double header. Entry prices are £12 for adults, £6 for concessions and £1 for juniors. The admission price entitles you to watch both of the games. Entry is free of charge to Widnes and Halifax season ticket holders upon production of the relevant pass or voucher. The East and South stands will be open. We are hoping to put on some form of entertainment for the hour or so in between the games and will let you all know when we have further details.

Why have two hours between the games, surely ONE hour would be enough time for the groundspeople to put the pitch in order? If we go to support the Vikings we will not be staying for the Fax game.

To my mind there will be minimal widnes fans staying for the fax game either way. It might be concern for locals who want to attend both matches but they have completely shot themselves in the foot by holding our game at such an early time.

SAY IF THE WIDNES GAME HAD BEEN AT HALF 12 AND THE FAX GAME AT 4PM...HOW MANY MORE WOULD YOU HAVE BROUGHT?! NOT THAT MANY..THE TRUE FANS WILL BE THERE.

IF WE PLAYED A LOCAL WIDNES AMATURE TEAM AT HALF 11 I WOULD BE THERE.

Judging fans on whether they are real or not is never really justified. It's like the no true scotsman fallacy. No true rugby fan would ever insult an official, a true rugby league fan goes to every game etc etc.

I have a season ticket for widnes. I go to matches. I'm a supporter and as true as anyone and that's all there is to it.

I will not be attending this match for a multitude of reasons none of which I feel the need to justify to anyone. There will be plenty of widnes fans there, but to my mind not as many as if you'd had a sensible kick off time or changed it to the stobarts but c'est la vie.

My sentiments exactly. We have to travel to Bradford on Saturday and we don't feel like travelling up again the next morning, what a stupid kick off time.
