As much as this week has been utterly fantastic we still have a big job to do on the pitch in the championship, this is most definitely a must win game without a shadow of a doubt.
Add to the fact that every team that normally wants to beat Widnes will now be doubling the efforts, lets hope for a big performance tomorrow and a decent gate. If we can beat Salfords gate tonight ill be quite happy.
I see Barrow got beat tonight by Batley, so they have lost twice just as Halifax and ourselves have done.

Other teams will have that extra incentive now, but we have a team of players who should be even more motivated, as they are playing for SL contracts and other players will need to put themselves in the shop window if they don’t think they are likely to get one.
If Betts can’t get them up for that, then there is no excuse.

As I type this, I am actually looking at a Mayan calendar. I picked it up last year in Mexico. While on the way to Chichen Itza, a modern day Mayan (yes, they are still around) told me that when the callender ended another would take it’s place. It does not signify the end of the world.
So we’re reet. Nothing can stop us now, and that’s straight from the horses mouth!

But the notion that the world will end in my life time or anyones life time, all this armageddon nonsense seems a bit arrogant. We're a drop in the ocean in terms of human presence on this planet, and humanity is a drop in the ocean in terms of life on earth. It will still turn, life will still go on, and Widnes will still rule long after we've popped our clogs.
Frankly, if the world does end tomorrow I'll be a glass half full sort. Sure, we're all about to go into oblivion, but no more nicholas lyndhurst comedies! No more annoying Lily Allen records! No more benefits cheats! No more monday mornings! All the things in the world designed purely to turn you mad little by little obliterated in an instant.
