The game against Leigh is a massive game for you to state your Super league Intentions. Leigh are at best a very good championship side, nowhere near super league level. A good performance tonight will see how much re-building you will have to do. I think you are well short and reckon it will take you 3 years to get an average side capable of Super league.

Even before this game we were under no illusions about how much we had to build for super league. Leigh are a very good attacking side who outclassed us tonight and fully deserved the win.

We have ten months to build a strong team and hopefully turn up to super league with a competitive side.

It will take you ten years to get a decent side. You should have a team full of academy players , not has beens like Sculthorpe. You will be the whipping boys of SL.
Where were all the suppoters, like a shed full of mice. Youm made more noise when you had the licence granted. Where were they all today.

They've three years to prove their status, not one. Next season will be crap for Widnes, the transfer system is against them there, the following two will show whether they deserve to be there on not.

BTW though, who are your "Superleague standard players"? Given the night off I assume?

Any team that comes up has basically a whole new side after a couple of seasons. Anything we do this year is largely irrelevant. Even if we were ripping the league apart that would still be true.

So you need to get rid of the other dozen donkeys? Fair enough.
Though I'm not sure I'd agree about Thackeray? We'll see, I've no doubt he'll be one of the few to keep his contract.
