Very worrying, I assume there was 2000 Widnes fans there today.
Isn't one of our major selling points of our license our strong fanbase?

Not even that, you could have fit everyone in the south stand into a single block of seats and the north stand was not as full as it has been. Good following from Hull, looked to be 1600-1800 in the east stand.

It is disappointing, I was expecting 4000 there today but a lot of people will have been put off by the way we have been playing and would have been expecting a hammering, add to that some of the tight fisted season ticket holders who won't put the hands into their pockets to watch additional games and it isn't that surprising. It's a shame though because those who did go were treated to a very entertaining game that Widnes were not out of until I'Anson's stupid pass that seen Tom Briscoe go the length and effectively finish the game as a contest, but Widnes stuck in there and Hull's comedy try after the hooter made the final score look a little more one sided than the game actually was.

I wouldn't have even said there were 2,000 there today - If the 3,387 figure is correct then I'd say it was roughly 1,700 each.

I knew the Widnes fans wouldn't turn up in big numbers - a lot of people I knew were expecting an absolute hammering and they just couldn't bring themselves to buy a ticket and sit through it. They might look at the score and feel justified that they didn't go, but IMO they missed a very good game and when got it to 20-32 and attacking their line, it could have got very interesting (if we'd scored again). We would never have won it but would have been intersting to see how Hull reacted.

I'm extremely confident that our super league crowds will be double that of today's. Cup crowds nowadays are sadly always lower than league games unless it's a derby and even more so when the game is likely to be very one sided, look at Warrington's game last night for example. Like I said I don't think we have anything to worry about crowd wise, the only area we are going to struggle is on the pitch.

that figure was clearly made up, weve had bigger crowd figures against toulouse with no away support.

don't worry, in general cup crowds are around half or even less than what is expected in superleague. having said that you will be expected to regularly pull in 8000 crowds once the big stuff starts

just got back from your place and i have to say i was very suprised at the low turn out by the home crowd, hull took loads today and widnes didnt, it seemed a bit weird tbh
