If I was SO'C I'd take it for next year. IMO we are treading water in this league at best. Attendances are dropping if anything and I think fans are getting disillusioned with the no promotion. Also factor in the fact that we've got a lower salary cap, plyers reportedly leaving - next year is not excatly going to be a walk in the park anyway.

What the worst that could happen? £2 million in the bank from Sky for a start, big increase in attaendances, atmosphere back at the stadium with the travelling support - we'd be mad to turn in down.

Not that I'm expecting it, but if the choice was there, I'd go for it. After all there wouldn't be that much chance of getting kicked out in 2011 - it would be 2 year licence, probably followed by a 3 year one for 2012 - can't argue with a 5 year shot at SL.

All artists are willing to suffer for their art. So few are willing to
learn to draw.

If (hypothetically speaking) we were given the option we'd take it. Once we're in it'd be impossible to get rid of us without losing Salford, Wakefield, Castleford etc.

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair
with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back!

We'd have no preparation for SL. We won't be able to recruit a squad capable of competing in SL, as we probably already have several players signed up on part-time contracts for next season.

We'd get hammered every week. We could recruit a better side for 2011, but we'd only have half a season to prove ourselves before the 2012 licences are announced. It could be more of a disaster than simply treading water in this league.

If the RFL come, cap in hand, for us to pull them out of the sh/t and take CC's place next year, we'd probably be wise to do so. But I'd prefer us to have 3 years grace, with a squad purpose built for SL at the very start.

At the end of the day I'd be surprised if the RFL throw CC out after one season anyway. I just don't think they could possibly bring themselves to do that. Personally, I hope they don't.
Great game of rugby league. Fantastic atmosphere, Wigan were breathtaking and dominant in all areas for the first 25 minutes, coupled with us making alot of dumb mistakes, then fortunately they brought McIlorum on which helped us back into the game. I thought some of the tries we scored to get us within two we're out of this world stuff. Towards the end we had to force it a little and we had a few things go wrong, i.e Monas kick on the first for King and Solomona going off who was causing havoc. Wigan were clinical in their eventual execution of us. Proud of Wire today and gave us a little glimpse to the future. Silverwood was awful as per, but I expect no less. Tomkins is a world class player and by far the best english player in SL. Wigan are a champion side and would be a worthy winner of taking our title as challenge cup. Good luck over the next month and a bit.
Widnes need the 3 years to build up to being a competative SL outfit.

If you were to be fast-tracked, Widnes too will get snotted most weeks.

Leave them in a say. It might sound a bit bitter (and I deserve to be), but if CC do go belly up, then it just proves what a set of irrisponsible tossers the RFL are!!
Not really i'm sure widnes would attract better players than celtic plus extra ££££ on the cap i think you would go ok

I really hope you come up next season but the rfl will just bail them out AGAIN
