Wellens Gardner Gidley Meli Pryce Eastmond Roby Fozzard Graham Puletua Wilkin didnt play tonight so them along with I suspect a few youngsters that played tonight will face your lot on Friday

I was pleasantly surprised at how organised we looked given the disrupted pre-season that all clubs have had.

After a disjointed first quarter we gave as good as we got. And even though it was an largely inexperienced Saints team we've been given the runaround by their kids in previous pre-seasons so it was good to be competitive.

As for the attendance, Man City v Man U on BBC will have kept a few thousand away.

Midweek game, saints 2nd team, football on telly, better saints side for halifax on friday, loads of reasons for fans to stay at home.

Not getting into an argument about whether Widnes or Fax are better but the reason why Saints are playing a full strength team on Friday is purely because it is the Mike Bennett testimonial and you would have played a full strength side had it been either Barrow last week or Halifax this. The only way Saints were ever going to play a full strength side against Widnes was if Saints couldn't re-arrange the testimonial game. Saints agreed to play Widnes before the Barrow game was cancelled and had they played Barrow on Sunday, there's no way they could have fielded another full strength side just 2 day later.

I for one hope he isn't too hurt. I just hope you lads can sleep at night. This will be on your conscience for years to come. And thats if you've even got one. That might be your problem.

I bet you club baby seals to death just because you don't know its wrong. And if you do that, who knows what else you do.
