I don't thing the cynicism would go anywhere. Also WHEN you go up unless you get stitched up again and they put Toulouse in, you will be wished well by some and not by others. I feel the RFL haven't helped this with the recent release of 'new' criteria for Champ clubs, the guidelines for which look to have been written following a phone call to SOC where he was asked what limits would allow Widnes to apply but which would categorically rule out everyone else.

The backlash against us has already started, and can I remind every one of the whingers it is not our fault? None of this is. We don't control the RFL, I think that much has been obvious over the years. Direct your criticism to the right people and leave us out of it.

Don't worry, I doubt it will be too long. How about first round of the play offs this year when you play us at the LSV

Don't forget the last time you were in the ascendancy over us and we met you at HP in the play offs. Terzis's tears were great. We're due a result against you Leythers . That's if we make the play offs!

To be fair, there's been a similar backlash from Widnes fans against Celtic.

I don't think anyone would have batted an eyelid if the RFL just came out and said Widnes are the only Championship club that they will consider for a franchise, rather than setting criteria retrospectively.

Given that it's been pretty obvious for a while that you would be getting a franchise this time round, why didn't they just give you a franchise last time?!

I did think at the time why are they fighting (lying) to put three into two spots rather than just putting all 3 of us obvious choices in!
