Everyone seems to want to have a pop at Widnes these days. It's jealousy.

As attacks go though this one is a bit mild. He seems to be lamenting the fact more than anything that not everyone is lucky enough to have a rich owner, although he should have just said as much instead of the extra bit of drivel. I understand clubs frustrations down here, but their focus is often very much misguided. No one as high profile has suffered more for the game than widnes.

Dont see many Leythers having a pop, the books were probably legally massaged but it dont matter, Widnes were selected 3 years ago - enjoy.

What I hope all fans agree on is that British Sport demands P&R, by all means have minimum standards but sport isnt sport without it.

A lot of it i think is just banter though mate, i, and i would have thought most Leythers wish you well in SL, but will miss the games against you, and of course the banter

I don't think SOC will be wasting his time or money responding to this. It won't matter nearly so much in four months time.

There has been an increasing amount of niggling going on from Batley in our direction in the last couple of years for some reason. I think it has something to do with a few close games in which we either won the game or drew the game at the death. Their fans seemed to adopt a completely different attitude after these games and none of it was helped by the ludicrously Barrow like biased reports that appeared on their website.

Having said all of that... He makes a very important point and as a game we should rally around Batley. This is definitely a case where the small club (no offence intended) is being picked on and it's completely unfair!!!

The trend is that each Champ club is going to continue to struggle, and even more so, unless they get significant cash injections like we did.

'telling it like it is'????????????????????????? i must have missed something. i was unaware that the batley chairman is our accountant for starters. and if by that you mean 'infantile, jealous, slightly pathetic sounding, factually inaccurate, random and pointless rant' then yes,that truly is 'telling it like it is'. And please, i have already anticipated smart booty replies, stating that this post itself falls into the aforementioned category. Mount pleasant? booty pleasant! wont be going there again.

I was talking about the Batley Chairman pointing out that the RFL are not applying this rule to every club in the game. And if you actually believe that you made a 1M profit, a year after you made a loss, with lower attendances, no prize money and loss of pre-season due to the weather then you are deluded. There is nothing wrong with it, it is clear that O'Connor is bankrolling the club.
