I agree.

Other than his kicking, he did absolutely love all. He is definitely not a scrum half. Coyle was trying to do the work of a hooker and a scrum half. I think I’Anson is a Loose Forward – END OF!

Picks wasn’t that bad on Thursday and worked his socks off.

Scully, if we can get him fit, will be OK.

Kavanagh will be a real asset in SL and has a great step for a big lad.

Now only watched first bits but I'Anson pass for 1st try, I'Anson kick for second.

I do think in games like this when we fall apart in the 2nd half people ignore who actually went well at first and look to their favourites to slate regardless!

I hope that you are not including me in that. I have neing saying for a while that I'Anson is not a scrum half. He just isn't.

And yes I am a bit! He ran the show from 7 a long with Coyle against York gets no praise! His kicking game has been good so far, you know something we've moaned about for years... No mention!

All he needs is a regular 6 outside him which us why Thacks should never be switched too FB!

I didn’t see him running the show against York. He had a good first half against them and put in some great kicks, but went missing in the 2nd half. It was Coyle who bossed that game.

He was practically non-existent in the Leigh game. He doesn’t play like a scrum half. He’s not a proper playmaker and plays more like a ball handling forward – offloading in the tackle, &c. He doesn’t lead the pack around, take the line on, or call plays. I have never seen him have a great game at scrum half yet.

Thacks needs a top no7 beside him; a proper one. Definitely not I’Anson. To be honest, apart from his kicking game, I have been completely under whelmed by him.

You normally seem to know what you are talking about, but I really can’t understand how you can say I’Anson is a good scrum half?


I agree that it was pure stupidity to put Thacks at fullback. It didn't work the last time we played Leigh either. FFS he's our main strike halfback!

I just feel he has one major asset that Thacks doesn't and that's a long sweeping ball out. Thackeray's strength is running out wide so those two should combine well as I'Anson can get the ball out quick to him on the frindges to create spaces and tries which we have seen bits on. The fact the pair have only played about 2/3 full games together has shown most IMO and that's what is needed for them to push on as a duo.

Coyle is playing great and I saw someone say he's doingt both jobs but watch the likes of Monaghan they step out and play the first ball, not just off the floor which is great to see (Kav's 2nd try) but not the same as playing 7 aswell!

I genuinely think you know what you are talking about. You are certainly very knowledgeable about the game, and I would guess that you have played it. I wouldn’t waste my time in discussion with you, if I thought otherwise. You are one of the posters on here that I take time to read. There are a few I don’t bother with at all on here and a lot more on the TIW board that I wouldn’t give the time of day to.

You argue your point well, but I just cannot agree with what you are saying.

Tbf I do prefer this board for post game discussion. Just wish didn't have iPhone as too much time to read some of rubbish elsewhere, lol!
