Problem will be how to get more fans in. The financial situation dictates that we have to get them in somehow, and it also dictates that we won't be able to afford 'over-paid' players, and will have to focus on local/young players. The 'trick' will be getting/coaching them into a successful team, to increase public interest.

To be fair to the current squad though, (including any 'over-paid' members of it) they have donated their winning bonus, from the RFL, to the Club. I wonder how many teams, from any sport, would do that?

That is charitable, but i think they have probably been given good contracts anyway.Well if you are on a smaller budget, we will probably send a few of our youngsters out on dual registration.We have some crackers, like Wire and Saints have sent to Leigh.

Obviously a great result for Leigh, but I do think they are very much at a crossroads as to their short + meduim term future. They have the well documented money issues, players like Hill and Ellis are leaving, influential players like Paul, Duffy, Littler and Donlan are probably coming to the end of their careers and then there's the average gate criteria to worry about. Will Millward be staying?

With a bit of backing they could pull it off, but a lot of work to be done.

Agree Hill and Ellis will be missed, but i think Leigh seem to have great rugby talent in the area with Leigh Miners and Leigh East.They have a few decent players in the reserves, and i am sure if find a decent backer they can get an academy set up.Only worry with Leigh is the finances and the fan base if not so successful.

All the box ticking is irrelevant if you aren't ready , and Leigh won't be ready till 2018 at the earliest , if ever

Onwards and upwards buggy, that's the spirit!!

You have the infrastructure in place and have the ability to attract good players at this level. Realistically, all you need is the fans throught the gates and other revenues in your business plan to make you self sufficient.
