An incompetent CEO. The drugs debacle is the headline failure, but don't forget when FC got to the Challenge Cup final in 2008 they probably should have been chucked out for fielding an ineligible player the first two rounds because Rule and co didn't realise Thackray had been signed three weeks after the deadline. Think that cost us £60,000 in the end.

Out of interest if he's banned from any role in "Athlete handling; inc recruitment and salary packaging and negotiations" what exactly is he going to do? Water the office plants?

To be fair alot of that came under Cull anyway as I'm sure it does now with Mcrae for you guys.

No doubt in my mind that he is coming in to work on the commercial side of things.

I'm sure SOC is aware of the season ticket and commercial increases during his time at FC.

We need more of a push on that front if we are spending more next year and ultimately looking to achieve the turnover for the full cap.

At Hull he was Kath Hetherington's little yes man, he had no say on recruitment or who the coach of our club was, he wasn't the cause of our demise from the 2006 GF.
He increased season ticket sales year on year and the marketing and communications from the club improved vastly during his tenure. He does dabble in a bit of spin, but I'm yet to find a CEO that doesn't.

He made a monumental mistake, one I'm sure you're all aware of, and you can go through the reports to form your own opinion of that whole embarrassing episode.

I agree. Give James Rule a chance. You maybe pleasantly surprised.

whos the idiot? you or me, seeing as rule not only allowed a drug cheat to play for fc, knowing full well that he was guilty as sin, he also lied to the u anti-doping about it all, not to forget his allowance to sign jamie thackeray and play him when his was already cup-tied for rochdale i think it was...
the list is endless, comlpete farce of a ceo in my opinion, youve only got to look at the strides forward weve made isnce ap took over to see what a proper ceo does......
with creit to rule though, off the field we was a succes in terms of selling mechandise, wereas we struggled badly on the field down to lack of investment, bad management and terrible signings..... all of which would not happen under our current regime.....

You're the idiot for not realising that the lack of investment and terrible signings were down to Hetherington.
You're making far too much of Thackaray-gate, it was a member of staff that forgot to send his registation in on time.
And I suggest you re-read the articles and reports around the drugs scandal again, as you clearly don't know the timing of the events that happened.

He has massive flaws in his coaching ability, but his hands were tied by Hetherington.

all i know is facts..he was in charge when we played a player already cup tied, thinkthat cost us alot of money, we finished 3rd bottom under his leadership, we arguably hired the cheapest most boring coach in superleague history, he was in charge when we had a drugs cheat amongst our players and he coverd it up, he fell on his sword.... what more can i say than that...... dont you find it ironic that under his time at fc, we were a complete laughing stock to rugby league????
