You seem oblivious to the past two years. You almost went bust, allowed a group of loan players to win you the NRC and now (despite the attendances) rely on a wealthy backer to keep you afloat. If anything, the injustice is that you guys are the front runners for a franchise.
with all due respect, thats such a mind blowing surge of misinformed booty gravey it almost does not deserve a direct response.
We didnt do anything, our previous chairman who is a crook and has since been convicted of seriously dodgy financial dealings was the one who almost went bust. and also took Chester city FC to the grave i might add. we had TWO loan players in the NRC final last season. And we DO NOT rely on a wealthy backer. i can say with certainty that SoC (having seen a summary of last years accounts) has not put any money in purely to keep the club ticking over on a day to day basis. he paid the agreed sum for the club and the agreed sum to wipe out the old regimes debts, and invested in youth development. widnes have worked purely within predetermined budgets, using REAL revenue to cover these budgets. im sick to death of people making out like widnes would go bust in a flash if our wealthy backer went elsewhere. its just not true. we made a small loss last year, and that was after paying of the old regimes debts and investing heavily in the youth system. nobody else in this league has books half as good as ours, and thats without being 'Propped up' by our chairman. as many of our rivals seem to think.
