Something has got to change. We started brightly, actually throwing the ball about and getting an early score. But then it's back to 'one man rugby'. It's getting all too predictable. Cullen was supposedly the man to get us playing an attacking style of rugby, but nothing seems to have changed. The fact that our 2 wingers are making the yards instead of the forwards is unbelievable. Our inability to finish off chances is coming back to bite us. I counted at least 2 times in the second half where we should have finished with a score. It was also noticable that our defensive line does not move up. Too many times are the tacklers stood there waiting for the opposing forwards to hit them. Something needs to be done, quickly.

Not an enjoyable match, dogged by penalties for both sides. Good attendance though.

Boring and can't say I was even that bothered that we lost. The National Leagues are dead.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

I wouldn't say it was boring at any point as it was always in the balance

Boring was couple of years back when you were all going home at half time , or when you nilled us at ours

We basically were more up for it in the last quarter

And when you rally in the second half of the season and push onto the final. Still dead?

You threw a lot of " Forward " passes today as well

In fact we called most of the second half forward

I think there are two ways to look at today's game.
Firstly, which is the one I prefer to subscribe to, was that it was a good, old fashioned, cracking derby match ,which either side could have won and Leigh's defence probably won the game (for once) with excellent effort and (at least) two last ditch defensive effots, which stopped almost certain Widnes tries. Two teams put everything into that today and okay it wasn't open rugby, but sometimes it doesn't have to be to be entertaining. It's about the drama.

Secondly, we could say that there were two very average teams on show today, and sorry Widnes fans, you are a bit delusional to think that you are that much better than Leigh. I'm affraid Halifax and Barrow will be the standout teams this season.

Irrespective, I thoroughly enjoyed today's game, probably morte than any this season. The win was icing on the cake which I didn't expect and with 10 minutes to go would have been happy with a point.

Anyway that's the way I saw it.

Duffy was very good in the 1st half but............Ostick was superb for me - excellent player who made good yards every time he had the ball.
