Three worthy clubs for different reasons but surely Widnes, for all the knock backs they've had, deserve a return to the big time. Best of luck.

Why what have they won apart from the choo choo cup 3 years ago and only got that dew to a mistake by black.

Halifax have completed the stand competed in one grand final and won the final last year where as widnes have not won or been in any grand finals. if the old rules applied barrow would have been promoted (ground depending) halifax last year.

But the old rules don't apply so that's irrelevant. As for Halifax finally getting one stand completed, let's not forget the Skircoat Stand has plenty of restricted views and the North Stand is graded unsafe!

Halifax have been in two finals and won one. So have Widnes. There's a bit more to licencing than that.

It is probably more important to be able to stay afloat in SL for 3 years and produce your own players. We have you licked on that score.

I'm not looking at it for the past three years, I just feel Widnes have had the rubbish end of the stick a few times in their recent ish history, and for me, Widnes should get the nod. Apart from that, Widnes for me have more potential than either of the other two.

they went in to admin a couple off year ago cant compete etc. halifax also have good acadamey brining own playes through and a choo choo cup should not count.
also probably both teams are better than wakey crusaders and harlequins

You don't have a good academy. You have a reserve side, which has only just been set up. You are not competing with wakey, crusaders and harlequins.

That's where I'm at. I think the RFL owe them for making way for Catalan.

A potential twist would be another club coming up in July and two clubs going down. Would make the championship stronger by having a few tasty local derbies (Cas, us and Fev). As I posted on the Wakey forum, if it isn't Widnes tomorrow, it's two down, because it will have to be Widnes in July.

I might be on here next year for drinking and tourist tips for Toulouse (that's my consolation prize - I've done Perpignan to death now!).

Thanks guys

Hopefully we get the nod tomorrow , and then can play some decent Rugby this season to bow out with. But what I'll miss most if we go is this league and the craic with teams in it . Its the real deal, and what RL is about.
