They need me at 6 and VM smashing them up the middle get littlerich in on dual reg aswell, storming those kick returns on the wing, sorted

We would rip this game up. We'd make it looks so easy. Three Sam Tomkinses without the petulance. I'd be the front man - pin up guy with my striking good looks. VM would be the "Harry Pinner" - toothless wonder.

I'd be crap on Question of Sport though.

Since when do they have RL players on A Q O S ?

FWIW, I think Betts should go. I'm not one for bagging the coaches but he's made a bad start and got worse. He may be able to pull things round in time but even though we have 3 years I believe we have to make an immediate impact in order to attract better players, sponsors and more fans.

In his defence he has taken over at an incredibly difficult time with not a lot to play for but for me, the damage is done and we need an experienced coach at this level.

Just look forward to Sooper League guys. When we (Leigh) got promoted in 2005, though we realised we wouldn't be in the play-offs, there wasn't TOO much negativity. BUT our signings were either 'past it' or untried at SL. Only Leafa, Wilshere & Stapleton got signed by other SL clubs following our relegation. You have made some 'decent signings' though. BUT there is no panic, you've got 3 years at least. Some Leigh fans reckon our coach at the time Darren Abram was 'pants' and he coached us to promotion, so in 12 months time, if Betts is still your coach - then it must because he's done ok.
If I was Steve O'Connor, I wouldn't have picked Betts, just because he'd been in RU for so long. I'm sure BETTER/more experienced RL coaches, would have loved the job. Be intresting to know who DID apply for the chemic's job.
Anyway, good luck in the play-offs, you should win at Sheffield - honest !!!

Really sorry to see the state your club seems to be in heading for Super League, hope its just a transitional period between the 2 leagues and you enjoy your 3 years minimum.

Would just like to say that myself and family enjoyed the hospitality at Widnes, all very welcoming and willing to talk.

You don't get this often but the stewarding was top notch also, better than the brown shirts at the Halliwell-Jones.

Also, a slightly sadder note, how is Kevin Penny?

Apparantly Penny is ok. Knock out cold by the post and badly shaken but people have said he was in + around the dug out after a while. Looked like it could have been a bad injury from the stands.

Talked to a few tonight and betts needs to go as no man management.Brown was excellent for the academy and needs to get a chance now in the first team.Well glad he has a 2 yr contract and loves Widnes.
